I am trying to set up a reasonably comprehensive budget system (with immaculate sound!!!) Presently I am running a P4 2 GHz with CEP,BIAB,T-Racks etc. I have recently acquired a pair of Samick K9512 (600w per channel,1200 watts bridged) power amps and 2 speaker cabinets with Eminence 400 W RMS drivers and treble horns.I intend to beef up the bass with an 18" sub driven exclusively from one amp,so guess I'll need an electronic crossover/splitter?
It would seem a quality sound card - Alesis,Layla etc. with patch bay is prerequisite to simplified 8 track editing?
I don't presently have a mixer/preamp so the sound is unstartling driven by CD,another of several purchasing decisions to be addressed.Figured I'd look for an eight track Behringer or similar.
Once set up I hope to be able to record with sufficient fidelity to impress(of course) and while I hope to compile an audiophile system down the track, for now a good sound from my cheapo setup will have to suffice - what else do I need please?(Unless you guys do interest free loans I am constrained..... ; )
