Hello,
Okay... I am beginng the search for a new drum kit... but I haven't been the market in over 12 years... so I'm *very* rusty... my last kit was a Pearl export (loved it at first, then began to hate it... as I began to record it).

Anyway... long story short... I was referred to Gretsch... in particular the Broadkaster jazz kit (because I was told that its right up my alley in terms of sound... and its a 4-piece).

Anyone play these? How do they sound? How are they to record (I record on to a mackie mdr, with a mackie 32x8, and use 2 overhead cond. and one LDC).

What's the typical "street price" for this kit... if anyone knows.

Thanks!

Don't know squat 'bout Gretsch, but I just sold a Mapex ProM set that I had for just less than a year. My studio's too small to get a good recording on acoustics, but this set rocked in a larger room.
A few friends and I jammed out on my front lawn this last summer and this set kicked!
This was a 5pc kit with beefy hardware (1 straight/1 boom)and a gorgeous laquer finish at $1100.

Worth checking out.
