Noooooo mi hermano, you haven't piss me off! As a matter o' fact,
allow me to intro-doose myself, I'm Q.rM,resident fool and devilishly handsome, suave and smooth home-boy! I welcome you to HR.COM and hope you can attend our "4TH ANN. HR.COM JAM/RECORDING/BBQ/BEER FEST !!" in Aug of '04!!

Anyway, I'm the LASSSSSSST person U wanna' ask about Behringer mixers!!!!

Trust Me!!

Peace!

Funny you should ask, i just help someone hook his up yesterday, but that's all I did was hook it up for him, I really can't even guess at how it sounds because of the rest of his system,

pro's:
Cheapest fully automated mixer around with "ALPS motorized faders"

Different interface options (ADAT, TDIF, AES/EBU)

Surround mixing

32 channels

12 XLR inputs with phantom pwr (I think)

Seams easy to get around in

Cons:

Reliability (my friend had to send send his back and get a replacement before he even had anything but the power cord hooked up)

To fully use it you need to buy one of the above interface options (otherwise you only have "4 multi-outs")

Manual could be better

That's all I "KNOW" I not going to comment further on something I really haven't used (read: not going to bag on it just because it's behringer, I wonder if it didn't have that name...), but the reliability issue would worry me, he did get the extended warranty, but even with that, if it breaks down your with out a mixer while it's getting repaired. I'm not sure how your going to be using it, but if you going to be using it with computer based recording (multitrack), I'm going to be upgrading soon and thought it would be (look) cool with flying faders and all, but will go with an interface box, thinking about two Roland/Edirol AU-1000 myself (I to wait for a few reviews first)

Good luck!

FOR FOSTEX VF 160

I want to use it for my fostex VF-160 . It does say it has 8 aux's
and 16 buses. But at the site they don't show the over head view
all usually have the eight output's ... that's why im asking...

Hate to dig up old threads, but my church is looking at one of these boards. We broadcast our services live on the internet so everything has to be miced even though we are in a small building.

I have 7 mics for my drums, we have 5 singers, 1 channel for the keyboard, and 3 channels for wireless mics. That puts us at needing 16 inputs.

What equipment do you need to add inputs beyond the 12 XLR inputs that are allready there?

All help is greatly appreciated.

P.S. Right now we are on a 24 channel Carvin board.

If you have the ADT1616 adat option board installed you can simply get an ADA8000 preamp-AD/DA which will give you 8 additional mic input channels for total of 20 mic inputs and if that's not enough you can buy another ADA8000 for total of 28 mic inputs.

Yeah I found the ADA8000 after I posted.

I think we have backed down from getting this mixer for now. The reason being money. The $600 for the board doesnt seem bad, but then we would have to shell out another $400 to have enough I/O capabilities.

For now its back to my drawing board with the mixer we have now(Carvin C2444). We dont record, but we broadcast live on the internet.

I am not new to running sound or mixing, but I havent had a lot of experience with setting up the equipment and stuff. I am for sure new to drum micing...I still havent jumped into that one, but will be doing that this weekend.

The tricky part about the drums is we dont need them for the building we are in. We only need them for the webcast. So I have to get them into the board so they get to the computer, but they cant come through the mains. I am thinking about using a sub mix to go to the computer instead of the monitor sends like I am doing now.

Oh well...I will get it figured out.

Thanks for your reply about the digital board.

I seriously considered the Behringer DXD last week, but then opted to get an Allen & Heath 16:2 and an ADAT converter. Same amount of money (like a grand or so), much less features (no track automation, no FX, no moving faders, no digital routing options, etc etc etc ) ... but it just sounds better, and that'll all that matters in the end, I guess.
