Hey Homer - one post since joining in 2003 ? Wow - must be in the Cave all the time (lol)..
Very groovin tune - like cool jazz rock....

Panning is a bit wide for me on the guitars ath the beginning - I'd bring it in a bit but that's just me.....

Drums are really nice - are they for real? Nice right pan on the crash.....must be.....

Hot vocalist - nice voice and great harmonies.

The guitar playing is outstanding - I like the rhythm/lead work on the left - very smooth from one to the other. Never seems to lose volume when you riff out....

Very Cool ........

Hey ya I kind of am in the cave, basement studio ...It's good fun.
I must participate more on the forum that's for sure.
I'll try panninig those guits a little tighter in,
thanks for the suggestion.
Glad you liked it.

The drums are all real.
I wish I could get things sounding a bit clearer and separated.
I'm pretty new at this mixing business, but having a lot of fun.

VERY NICE,
Good playing, recording & singing. The bass sounds a bit grumbly - I can hear the bottom & top but no mids - though tat's probably muddy things up.
I'd agree regarding the panning. tighter in with the odd flourish outside. The drumming is very nice. The harmony vocals are really well placed esp. the male one.
Congratulations.
PS
What is it about you Canadians? Some superb stuff comes from above the falls. Is it the French influence or the undercurrent of kicking against the Brits?

Hey aw geez thanks guys, great suggestions.maybe if i check
and possibly cut some more low mids from the guits pan em'
in tighter and look for a sweet midrange spot to clear up on the bass
i'll be happenin'.
P.S I'm not sure it could be the water or beer ,anyway ,thanks
i'm a proud Canuck there is such a great history
of incredible musicians/songwritters from Canada i'm humbled.

Well done! I don’t think I can help you with mix cause from my angle everything is just nice.
Even too nice. I’m burning some compilation CDs and I hope you wouldn’t mind me putting this song on it.
“I’m coming home” is perfect for it and must be No 1.
You see I am preparing for my big journey by car (2200 km one way) and I’m really going home first time after two years.
Once again, nice song! Well done!

Sikter- Hey i'm glad you like it,I got some really good tips from
other members, It still needs some work and to be mastered.

Feel free to add it to your compilation cd ,I'll let ya know
when it's done along with the 10 other songs we recorded
for the cd.

Best of luck ,

Very good tune. Nice jam-band feel. Each performance is top notch. Great voice. Solid guitar work.

I listened on fairly cheap headphones. I agree with the prior comments about the panning. For some reason, the individual parts seem almost too isolated -- as if the song is lacking a "cohesive whole." If that makes any sense at all. I'm sure it wouldn't be as apparent, if I had listened through monitors. The vocal, at times, seems almost too forward, particularly when contrasting the wet reverb sound of the vocal with the relatively dry instrumentation.

You guys are definitely going in the right direction.

Great song.

Cheers,
Kevin

Very cool :D The vocals and guitar progressions/rhythms are excellent. Just love the feel to this.
Good song, sounded great mixwise on my system too ;)

Acoustic is the easiest thing to mix. Try recording an amp with heavy distortion and mixing it :(

I posted it too, its the "Why is this so Horrible" thread

This is a great tune! You guys are very talented and catchy, very musical.

If this were recorded and produced by some "big label" it would be a sure thing! I dont really ahve much to suggest. I thought the pannings were a bit too wide for my liking. Love the guitar playing. Great singer. Great drum sound. Sounds almost like you mixed the guitars first, then brought in everything else around the guitars??

Anyway, this is really good music! Got some more?? :)

I'd like to thank you all for your help,I'll be remixing "Walkaway"
this weekend and trying out all your suggestions,
The support was great,I'm deleteing the song from soundclick
until it's been remixed and mastered. You guys rock !!
