Opinion on metal tune "Obsidian"

the intro is very Emperor-ish. I like it.

Id probably do something with that kick though. Somethings missing?
 
Wow... Tight stuff, bro. Here's my opinion.

  • Exceptional musicianship. Nice playing.
  • The recording itself is generally messy, probably a factor of the recording space. Definitely not a factor of your playing.
  • The reverb is a bit thick.
  • Your cymbal hits sound like explosions. Made me smile. Works great.
  • The low-end needs some work. The bass and kick sounds are a bit flimsy.
  • Seems like between times 1:36 and 1:42, the drummer gets slightly ahead of the music. Other than that, nothing but tightness.

There ya have it. Great tune. Keep it up.

Hey guys thanks for responding with your opinions will sort the kick and tighten everything after i get the vocals done. By the way the i programmed the drums myself in cubase 5 using groove agent one. Im going to get BFD2 soon.
 
geee... a metal tune about a rock???? next a power ballad about titanium???
 
Your guitar playing is great and the track is very good. But the mix doesn't do it justice. It all sounds very distorted, the drums are hardly audible except for the cymbals which sound very thin. It sounds very compressed and pumps the whole time. I would start over again, 'cos the song deserves it.
