Winner chicken dinner!
I bought cubase because that's what I heard we are going to be using at school. Then i just find out today that we will be using SX1 and the projects aren't transferable. Is this true? If so any workarounds you can think of so i can work at home instead of spending my free time at the friggin midi lab? Also how much is SX1 to buy?

They should include "legacy" modes in these apps.

Perhaps you should put a case to the school advising them to upgrade their multi user liscence (which I would assume they have) to SX3. Cos I don't even know if you can get hold of SX1 anymore.

To me it sounds counter productive to be educating people etc using old obsolete versions of software. I said the same thing to my computer science teacher years ago when he tried to ram Turbo Pascal down our throats.

What's wrong with Turbo Pascal? I learned it in 1987 and it has served me quite well.....LOL :D

I agree, excellent teaching language to learn the ropes on.

There is a way to transfer them, if you go to File- Import- Cubase song you can search for the file in there, worked for me anyway between Cubasis VST and SX

They are probably going to upgrade it next year.
