oooo the decision...what would you do?

I have a decision...

One guy owes me a pair of KRK v8's. I paid him $900. His partner took them from him and will not give them back, hence he will have to buy new ones for me. I know this puts a great strain on him.

I was just talking to a good friend, and he has a pair of K-Roks and he said, bro, if you need monitors, take mine!

Heres my decision: I coudl forgive my friend and just ask for the money back instead of him having to buy new v8's (along with other stuff he owes me) and take the 900 and apply it to a motif8. I would just take the k-roks from my other buddy who offered me them.

Or I could get the V8's from the dude.

I don't know how the speakers compare, though i do know one is much much more expensive then the other...I produce hip hop music and am really needing something that will give me a good feel for the bass kicks and snares.

So what would you do??
 
I'd beat the snot out of the guy that took them, and take them back.

I guess what im wondering is if its a huge disadvantage to work on the k-roks instead of the V8s. Because if the difference isn't that huge...i might as well go with the k-roks and spend the moeny on the mitif8..

any people have expertise in this?

and if you insist on being a prick and make him buy you the monitors, Musicians Friend quotes a price of $1049 for the pair....that way you are only fucking him out of $150:rolleyes: :eek: :D :p

Definately get the money back, I'm telling you man, the MOTIF 88 key is worth it

Bullshit. If you were indeed my friend, you wouldn't be so careless in the handling of my property.

If you were, I would make it MANDATORY that I get my shit back, or you are NOT my friend! ! :D
 
Sorry, dude. I have friends *because* I don't do bullshit financial deals. $900 is $900. Anybody who *is* your friend, will pay you the $900, which seems the fairest arrangement. He hasn't got the speakers. Yes, take the offer of the monitors, 'cause you ain't got shit right now. A real friend, I would let slide if he was down on his luck, but if I find out he's got the $900, and I don't, I'll take him to small claims court for the harassment value and try to settle out of court. That's what you do with people who are *not* your friends.-Richie

It's like.. if your buddy gave you $300 for your Datsun... and then you crashed it before you got it to his house. Do you need to go buy him a new datsun?? NO. you just give him his $300.

K-Roks are not even close to the V8s, so they are not an equitable replacement at all....

I'd suggest picking better friends........
 
The K Roks are to the V8s like Yugo is to a Vette. Get your money back.
