ok so, this is a song that my friends and i wrote and recorded like two days later. the reason it was rushed was because our drummer lives out of state and we only had 4 days with him or so. so the performances on this tune are not perfect:/
we recorded into an Akai something or other... cant remember the model at this time. it has 8 inputs and we used 6 mics on the drums. Symetricz pre-amps on the condensers... for one guitar we ended up using an F15 condenser(brand doesnt came to mind right now...) the other guitar was a sennheiser e609. the bass was DI'd, the vocals are a Shure 58...

its the first song, called High Explosives

we did a rough take of the guitars and the drums at the same time
the drummer did his final take while listening to those
we came back and cut our guitar, bass, and vocal parts.
then added the two guitar solo sections, for these we wish we wouldnt of used so much reverb on the amps. u can always add more later, but u cant take it away:/

i mixed and edited this in Adobe Audition and mastered in Sony Soundforge.

this is only the 2nd mixdown. so im looking for advice and opinions on what else i should do to it. ANY criticism would be much appreciated.

You're gonna have to spend a lot of time slip-editing the drums in audio to get them locked into the groove....if it can be done. Or you're gonna have to re-do the drums. It's the time...he lags badly. That's the first thing. And it's a fatal thing. Can the drums, and do-over.

yea, the performance there is pretty much all over the place. with this though im just trying to make it sound as good as i can for what this performance was. the band this song was for(frostbite) is totally defunct now so its not worth it to redo anything. plus we dont have a drummer here who can play this stuff.
i wish we could redo it:/
thank you very much for your input jeffmaher.
slip-editing? please educate me on how to do this? i think i pretty much understand what you mean, im just very new to this.
