Omnistudio and low recording levels

I am using the M-Audio Omnistudio (with Delta 66 card) in conjunction with Cubase SX for my sequencing. I have a synth connected to the first stereo input (TRS plug) on the omnistudio. When I record an audio track in cubase sx, the volume is rather low compared with the actual signal coming from the synth when I'm not recording.

I have cranked the master volume on the individual synth as far up as it can go. I have the volume cranked on the midi track in cubase sx. I then click the black button on the back to send the synth signal to the H/W 1&2. The result is an audio track that is roughly half the volume, even with the M-Audio software mixer control panel cranked to max. I'm not sure what the problem is or how to rectify it.

Any help is appreciated.

In the Delta control panel, switch the inputs in question to a -10db reference. I'm assuming they're set to +4 or "consumer".

They were set at +4. I changed them to -10 as suggested. With exerything else cranked, I noticed that the recording level meter during recording get up into the yellow range. Although not as loud as the sound from the synth directly, it's 100 times louder. I never got the signal to get anywhere near yellow

I'm going to try and record more audio tracks and see how it turns out.

Thanks for the help.
