Hi everyone,

I'm looking to upgrade my integrated soundcard, and have been looking at the Omni Studio 66. The specs for my computer are:

Pentium 4
1.7 Ghz
512 RAM
80 GB Hard Drive
Windows XP

I'd appreciate any info from those who've used the Omni. If anyone has run it with Windows XP I'd love to hear about any problems you've run into.

If you have any other recommendations, that'd be fine as well. I'm looking to record 2-4 tracks at once, have absolutely no MIDI needs, and would like to keep the system (card, break-out box) around $400.

Thanks for your help.

Sounds like the Omni is just what you're looking for. I use one too. It's a very nice unit. It'd probably be smooth as silk on a P4. Not so sure about WinXP issues.

Love my OMNI

I've been running a Delta 66/OMNI set up for almost a year now.
Currently, it's under Windows 98se on a Celeron 400 but it may be moving in to a new computer shortly.

In general terms, I couldn't be happier with the OMNI.

The breakout box offers two good quality pre-amps and ample enough I/O to work with most any small studio/home recording situation.

There are two heaphone jacks, an adjustable "monitor" out and a direct output so there are plenty of options for monitoring both during and after recording. Inserts for FX sends and aux I/O make this a handy little box for the money.

I've spent more and got far less from other MFGs.

Driver stability wasn't an issue (until I upgraded recently) and even that's been addressed with yet another update so I have to say, this thing is plenty of bang-for-the-buck.

Don't know what you'll get with XP but its looking like you won't be disappointed.

Word to your Motherboard!
