Hi Tascamers... Brand new to forum and 4 tracking. I have a older 424 that seems in near mint condition. I've recorded direct, wet, from my amp, which has a low imp. mic and nice acoustic effects. It has a send in back (low imp) which I adapted to hi imp. into the mic/line in. I recorded a rythym guitar part on track one. (left pan) A lead vocal on track 2. (pan right) A lead guitar part on track 3. (Left pan) It all sounds great through the headphones, cue up, left and right monitors down. Tape center, left and right out from 424 to left and right in on mixdown deck. Here's the problem#%!**#@%...When I playback what I've mixed down, I get all my vocals on one side and all my rythym guitar on the other, and no lead part at all. I've tried several variations, trying to isolate the problem, but am stumped. Possible troubleshooting suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Preston Fennell. P.S. I hope I've posted this correctly.

When you remix it, make sure you're mic/line selector switches are set to tape for the three channels that you recorded on and use the levels and panners to adjust to your taste. Everything else should be off including the tape cues. You should only be listening to the L and R monitors. Generally you don't want anything panned hard right or left on the mix down. Remember - isolate tracks during recording, bring it all together at mixdown. Suggestion: Bring your vocal track to dead center, and pan your two guitar tracks slight righ and slight left respectively.
