old tune "shadows"...prog metal

Hey guys. This is an old tune I did 2 years ago, before I knew about this site. Even though I have no interest in remixing these old songs, I never got a proper critique on them. I am just wondering how my recording skills have improved since then. Some folks seemed pretty happy with some of my new mixes. Let's see what you think of an old one. Thanx.

Sounds pretty good to me. Interesting vocal effects. As far as the mix goes: Sounds balanced, and levels sound right to me. Nothing sticks out to me that really needs changing.

Snare might have a bit too much pop to it, less compression? Voice sounds pretty good. My biggest nit though would have to be the guitar sound. They're very well played but sound very bright. They tend to get a bit fatigueing on the ears. I would lower the highs and boost the mids. Otherwise, pretty good!

The guitar sound was the result of endless tweaking with plugins. I had no real rig at the time. It was actually a combination of SimulAnalogue's Tube Screamer into their JCM 900 plug....and various other eq and such. I can get a much better sound these days but I don't wanna record this stuff over...I have alot of other things goin on. Thanx for your comments.
