SOUND DIAGNOSIS

I have precious old tapes from, and before, my childhood that was recorded on my dad's professional reel-to-reel tape deck called a "Concertone". This baby is like 40 years old and still works!. The monitor outputs work great with headphones (mono). Can I route the same signal from the 1/4'" jack into a 1/8" jack into my soundcard and make a wavefile that I can transfer to a CD??? These memories needless to say are absolutely priceless! Thanks in advance. ---ROB :)

Sure, I don't see why not. Just start with the phone levels down all the way on the deck and bring it up slowly to see what level you are sending to the computer. That would be my only concern- getting the levels set right going into your machine.

Have fun,
Chris

"Have fun,
Chris"

This goes WAYYYYYYYYY beyond fun. This machine is my "time machine" to my past. Thanks for responding, Chris. I just did some research on this baby. It is a model 20/20 manufactured in 1955! Friggin thing still works! Imagine listening to me singing lullabyes from over 40 years ago! Trippy shit for sure. There is a "hum" that I am hearing but a 31 band equalizer should be able to quash that hopefully! Thanks again! ----ROB
