Pretty good song with no real mixing issues. I seem to hear a slight veil over the mix......just a little teeny tiny bit muffled sounding but good balances. the harp sounds very nice. I've always hated Dylan's voice but I have to give you credit.....that's a very good job of capturing that style. very nice....I like it.
This is a nice song. Well written and produced. I'm a newbie to recording and mixing, but I can't hear nothing that stands out to comment on that aspect. Dylan is also not my cup of tea as far as style is concern, but you did a great job capturing it. I do however ultimately respect his writing and the influence just shines through. Keep it up!
I'm staying out of the other battle, but don't feel bad about going and shredding my music. I've been waiting for a food smack down, but nobody's given it to me harsh...yet

Thanks I appreciate your kind words.... I really do......but I'll not say anything bad about anyone's music in the future. Not in this forum in any way.
I've been playing in bands since about 1974 and I've played with all level of musicians. I've played with people that thought I was really good... and people that thought I was pretty poor. And I've probably been both at different times. Musicians are musicians.... and they all got an opinion. I'm NEVER insulted by what other musicians tell me. If someone says ... man that guitar part is lousey... I just ask why think it's lousey. Process that in my own mind. Take their advice or shurg it off.
That's just the way I handle things.... and I certainly didn't mean to start some big deal about anything.
I've got lots of friends who I can run music by and they're all gonna say it's good, because they know me etc. The opinions I respect are from people who don't feel obligated to say "yeah, it's good". Those who feel free to say that drum part is lousey.
I'll never give an opinion in forum like that again. If anyone wants what I honestly think...... they can email me at kjam22@cox.net
my first thought/question. why are you emulating Dylan so much? Is that your style and/or preference? Is this like a tribute song, but with a Christian slant? that aside...MUSICALLY would fit on a Dylan album just fine. I find much of his stuff to be "accepted" even though its raw style, and singing...much like the Stones, imo. I liked the organ very much....and pno too. The solos at the end where decent on them. The gtr solo was a little lacking, but fit ok in the context of things.
Overall the mix and performances where nicely above average, and made for a decent presentation. I personally prefer "slicker" productions in MOST cases...not all.. and I can give or take Dylan too.. so I am sure that had some subconcious influence on me!!
oh...I'd "lose" the trombone player!!...did I say "lose" the trombone player? ....aaaah...you already did!!
Wow this is a really fine mix-Classic sounds and progressions-I was surprised someone said it sounded muffled-it really sounds sparkley to me..I wasn't surprised about the dylan comment-this will never escape a dylan comparison--love the keys-just a very good sound overall....well done..
