Boy, I'm a real newbie for sure. I have a great fast computer, fast CD-RW recorder, great sound card, mike etc. I would like to be able to record (somehow) all of the old records and tapes I have and save them to my computer and then copy them to a CD. However, I have no idea what software and hardware I should get that will produce some good copies.

Any help would be appreciated to help me get started.

check out a post right here in newbies called "ripping software"....there is an address for "audio grabber"....should do what you need.......gibs

Thanks !!

Boy, you guys are great !! I downloaded "Audio Grabber" and have already ripped several songs from my old record collection. I'm sure glad that I have two quite large hard drives however. The *.wav files I recorded were all about 30 Mb. Anyway, that means I can get more than 20 files on each CD I copy them too, and that ain't to bad.

I had all the necessary computer gear and hardware for playing any kind of old recordings I have but just didn't have a software program to get started with.

Again, Thanks to all of the replys I received and the information. This is definitly going to be one of my favorite web sites !!!

Just one last question however: "How in the devil you you guys get all those little icons do do their dances ?
They are great !!

later.
Frank..........
