Yeah I've actually got an Audigy which I bought a couple of years ago basically because it and the Hoontech were the two cheapest decently reviewed cards and the Hoontech didn't have any MIDI. I don't regret going with it though, at the time I was just interested in messing around and when I upgrade my stuff I'll hand it on to a young cousin, might get him into something musical. Being restricted to 16 bit depth is very limiting though, it's never going to sound up to par professionally. SampleCraze is a very nice site and the reviews are very thorough. It sounds like a sweet piece of gear. The fact that it's coupled with a sampler is something that's really appealing to me being a keyboard/piano player and basing my studio around my digital piano. Do either of you have any other suggestions for me to take a look at, bearing in mind that I'm going to be looking to get a decent sample bank of sounds so the price of the 1820 $553AUD - $400USD for the card alone is around about (maybe up it a bit if there's something really tasty) the range I'm looking at and that the studio is heavily keyboard/module influenced as regards my own stuff at least, although I'm seriously considering the idea of getting into the game and hiring it out once I've learned to use it well. So some cards that have some flexibility to handle a range of setups nicely. Thanks for the responses, a bit of chat helps a lot.
