Old 4-track tape recorders - do they have individual outputs?

Hey guys

I'm looking to start doing some low-fi live dub performances - ideally mixing straight off cassette. I've just been reading about Tasman Portastudios, like the One or Two - but I want to know if any of these units have individual outputs - so I can send them into another mixer and tweak with effects (spring reverb and tape delay etc). Can anyone help me with that info? And or suggest other suitable devices for this purpose...

Any help much appreciated

I don't have a Tascam but I do have a Yamaha MT100 which is pretty simple. There is the stereo out for stuffed "mixed" using the faders and there's an RCA at the back of each track to take the signal straight out as recorded.
I used those when taking my 4 tracked recordings into a computer via a multi track interface.

Ok sweet, so at least as far as your Yamaha is concerned - my idea is possible? I can send four individual tracks from the cassette into another mixer (but with the pitfall of using RCA rather than 1/4" jacks)

The Tascam Portastudio MK II has the individual outs for the four separate tracks as well.

Welcome to the forum Mr Zeero.
When you say Dub do you mean Dub step ,Dub reggae?
Performances as in live? or recording?
Why do you want a lo fi sound?
I want to understand so i might be able to help better please.

The newer Tascam 424mkII and 424mkIII portastudios and the 234 syncaset have individual 4 track outs. The older 424 model has 4 line (track) outs via tape cue as well. I know for sure that the 414/414mkII only have 2-channel outs.

My 244 has 4 line outs as well. Thank God, since the transport isn't functioning...still useful as a mixer.
