Oktava 319 for $69 at GC - how can I go wrong buying one of these?

Hey all.

Received an email from GC the other day showing their Fall Clearance items. Included is the Oktava MK319 for $69!

I figure, for $69, I can't really go wrong with buying one of these. Can I?

Even if I don't love it, I don't think there's anything around that price point that can match it.

Convince me otherwise, before I try to find a GC location that actually has one in stock (this might be the classic bait and switch).

Like you said though, actually finding a store that has the mics in stock might be a trick.

i saw the same thing, list price is $599.00! If I just didn't buy a vocal mic, I would try to get one just for the heck of it. What did they sell for before?

LMFAO! That's such a joke. Stuff like that should be illegal.

I think they normally sell for $100.

It's a decent enough microphone, a less overbright than the typical Chinese LDC. QC's spotty so be sure you can exchange it if something doesn't work on it.

The last one I picked up was in a sealed "Studio Essentials" box with 20" cord for $49.99 from GC on a holiday sale.

The shockmount, on the other hand, is a joke. Don't pay fifty bucks for it.

Yes, Wheelema- Some GC's carry the ML-52. I got mine for $175 there. And frankly, for $69, a good MK319 is a very good deal. I've got more than a few mics in house, and the 319 continues to see duty, especially for female backing vox and toms.-Richie
