Okay.....what the hell is this thing for?

It is a joke.

It's to fill out empty space on the rack. And to impress clients.
And most important....to give the know it all producer something to twiddle so he won't annoy you.

Thats some funny shit:D

I would buy one for that simple fact if they actually make them.

(do they?)

Yep, I've got one and the light actually works. For those who didn't get the joke: a pallindrome is something spelled the same forwards as backwards - on the Pallindrometer all the legends on the dials/switches read the same forward and back.

Scott
P.S. They also make a Digilog Dynamicator and an Algorythmic Prosecutor

Hahahahaa.......it took me a second to figure out why the off switch was called "non on".

I actually would like to have a full rack of two with a bunch of gear like that. Most of them with less obvious stupidy name games, but then have one completly stupid one in the middle. "Dumastameter Figureouchameter"

This is my favorite part of it

30,000 day demo period

and the free packaging with every order.

On a more serious note......... I want a unit for the super high end studio. It would have modules to add "hiss", "dirty pot" and "bad cable" sounds. This is sorta like us going from dirty tube/analog to pristine/quiet/120bd headroom and now adding tube stuff to make the sound "warm" (?)

But that's dead easy. You can make one yourself. I think the hiss part is the hardestthing to do actually, so use a synthesiers noise generator for that instead.

But 'dirty pot'?

Well, heck, go to a scrap yard an get an old amp from the 70's that has been shucked away, remove the pots, especially the stereo ones, and then hook up inputs and outputs through them.

Wiggle them around, and the sound goes "scratch sc ghickup sdfkhjreh".

Take the old switches out of it and hook them up too, and you'll get a 'bad cable' sound when you try to use them. :)

My advice would be to learn about envelopes, panning, and programming drums. I mean, did you even use any beats that weren't already programmed from the factory?

Acually those on nowhereradio.com right now are from a casio key board (gotta make the most of what you got). I did add rolls and breaks, and add a second simular drum beat and pan them 9 and 3 o'clock. Not to mention that on one song not up there, I had 5 different beats all lined up by ear, then I would bring them in or drop them out ass nessasary.

For programing, I will put some up there today. About a year ago I rented an EMU MP7 from GC for a month.

Berhinger has a whole line of mixers for that very purpose.

Also, just as an aside, have you heard that copies of your post in the Cave are being forwarded to all the local studios in your area? Apparently they're finding it pretty entertaining.

I don't bevieve you, but if it is true......why/who would do something like that? Thats just plain rude. Are they doing it out of something personal?

I put up some stuff that I programmed. "Untitled" and "88"

He just wants to sell you a tube mic stand.

You know you need one, don't you?

Where did you here about all this? Was it posted in some thread?

Ya know, since you broke the news, it kind of leads me in one direction.............
