okay so I am completely lost...

I just purchased a M-Audio Axiom-49 midi controller and Cakewalk Dimension Pro Virtual Synthesizer... I use a firepod for my recording but was told that it was irrevalent due to the fact that I would be using USB. I installed the driver and everything correctly... now how do I use the midi samples and actually play? I have no idea what I am doing, this is the first time I have tried something like this. I am using Sonar 3. HELP ME!!!!!!
 
You'll need to open Sonar...create a midi track...load your virtual instrument....and set it to receive input from the M-Audio.

I don't use Sonar or your Virtual Instrument, so I can't comment on the specifics...sorry.

Are you using a mac? If so, you need to go into AMS and set up your midi controller. I think PC's have something similar, but I don't know how to do it since I use a mac. One of the pc'rs here should be able to tell you.
