ok: Simple question.

You own a Masterlink; you put down some stuff into it. You are ready to make your CD.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO BURN, LET'S SAY, 55 MINUTES ON A 70 MINUTE DISC?

If I buy this item, I want to know as much as I can about it. I know that it has taken some hard criticism from Ed. I respect his knowledge but if the unit is pretty good, I'd like to know.

Thanks,

It depends. I just did one of a 74 minute recording, and it took about 17 minutes at 16/44. If you use digital signal processing, like compression, eq, etc, it will take longer because it has to render the songs with dsp to a separate file, then it burns that file at the usual speed. If you make another copy of the rendered file, it doesn't have to render again, so the second copy is much faster.Burning at 24/96 takes about twice as long as the real time length of the recording. So, there you have the extremes.
