Ok what's the secret?

I hear everyone speaking of Cakewalk Sonar and Sound Fonts and MIDI this and MIDI that.

I have heard some pretty awsome drum sounds using this kind of stuff in the MP3 Clinic.

I have never achieved the drum sounds as some of theses songs have. What am I missing?

My current situation is:
D4
SR16
Yamaha So3 Keys
Cool Edit Pro
PC

What do I need to start getting some kick ass drum sounds. Like this one from CrankyOne.

well those drums from your example are midi, triggered i guess.
but for the rest i had the same question as you but something went wrong with the attachment and all but I would give as example mike portnoy's bassdrumsound. or danny carey's.
