Who Cares!
'm still debating in which sc to choose and thats the fireface, 96/52 hdsp or the multiface/digiface. Im willing to purchase 2 96/52's but how would i use them if all the have is adat connectors. Thing is i record @ 88.2 and have been comfirmed thats rme's sweet spot (from an rme source of course) so how do i go on using the 96/52's converters mind you i dont have 2 or 3k to spend on apogee gear.

I use a Mackie SDR HD recorder to feed my 9652. I have it clocked to a Universal Audio 2192, and also use the converters in the UA (to the s/pdif). I have a feeling that if you are buying 2 9652's and 24 channels of conversion, your end cost may be pretty similar to Apogee.

I have my 9652 going into a Soundcraft 328 digital mixer for conversion. The soundcraft has great pres and good convertors, but it's limited to 24/44. For me that's not a problem, as I don't care for 88.1/96.

I personally prefer that route, but there are a few different things you could try, such as the Behringer ADA8000 (I have one, sounds ok, nothing bad, nothing great) at the bottom or the Apogee AD8000 (hmmm... I wonder where behri got their name from) at the "top". Getting 88.1/96 support in the convertors might cost a fair amount, and as xstatic said, it's going to approach apogee prices.
