Hat STYLE. Not contents.
I'm working on a song, and I'm going to need a whole bunch of spoken audio samples for it.
I'm currently crawling through public domain audio books and poetry, but it's really slow going. If anyone wants to become my new best friend, you can do so, by sending me a recording of yourself (or any friends and family who want to participate) saying the following words:

a

Awesome! Thank you!

Holy shit, dude. That's a lot of words. I may be able to do this...when do you need it by? I'm in the process of upgrading my entire setup and nothing is hooked up right now.

There's no hard deadline. (I'll probably finish the song within a couple weeks?)

Not english? That raises some interesting possibilities! I think that ultimately, we've got to stick with English. But if you've got a thick accent or something that's great!

If it's more words than you care to record, not to worry! Just send me a handful, and I can work with that. (Some of the more obscure words: splines, hyperspace, symbiote, etc. might be hard to find in public-domain sources!)

I suppose some explanation wouldn't hurt. I'm recording a song based on the Berserker series by Fred Saberhagen. One of the cooler images that gets used throughout the series is that the machines synthesize human speech using a bunch of disparate samples from captives. I figured I'd try to do a mix of the song with a Berserker "singing" it.

That's my run through - I mis pronounced a word or two, I have the flu & the missus was watching TV in the background as I rcorded these on the computer mic all of which, together, should make for an idiosyncractic set for your use.Oh, I pronounced words AUSTRAYLEAN so they'll seem a little alien here & there. I just listened to rob's - nice ones - basic pronun is the same except for the 1st word which I did as the sound/word as opposed to the increasingly more common vowel name/word. Oh & Rob, nice voice & the accent is a treat.
FINALLY I misread they're as there so my pron. of that is a little skewed & says there instead of theyrrr.

Thanks rayc, should be a good contrast between the two of us for whatever steve is trying to achieve. Think I mispronounced/guessed a couple too like you - splines and symbiote inm particular. Did think about which way to go with the first one too :D

if you still want some i can do some tonight - any particular method you want used? like intonation or emotion? is it goofy - sarcastic - silly - can I mix it up and do them all different? or is it like all monotone?

Yeah, Arcadeko. The more, the merrier!

Any kind of intonation is great. The more variety, the better really.

Hey everyone! I've finally finished it (and entered it in the new songwriting contest, actually)!

Serious trance possiblities here. Really cool idea, but it just proves you have too much time on your hands... lol. Nice job Steve.

Heh. I probably do have too much time on my hands, but at least I spent it on weird music instead of video games this time, right?

So this is where the magic began! Ahhh sorry I missed this thread bro. :( I would have gotten some of my foreign friends to help out with their sweet accents!

I am not much better off. See the link in my signature as proof of that....

I don't even own a video game system because I don't want couch potato kids. They are active and play outside all day. No junk food, and no video games. Snacks are carrot sticks or apple slices. At least I did that right...
