Ohm Matching

Hey guys,
I want to plug this 8 ohm solid state head into one of the newer Marshall 4x12 cabs that you can switch from 4 ohm --> 8 ohm stereo --> 16 ohm.

someone told me to just plug it into the 4 ohm but that's scary that they don't match up. what do i do since the 8 ohm one is stereo???

Do NOT plug into a 4 ohm speaker, as you will damage your amp. You would, however, be OK if you went into a 16 ohm speaker, though you will lose some of your efficiency and tone. It is best if they match, but you will never damage your amp (or speaker) by going into a high independence speaker cabinet.

If you have your amp docs, check them. Many amps will support 4 ohm loads as well. However check first before trying it.
