I guess obsessively watching for an RNP on ebay multiple times a day pays off, got it within minutes of it getting listed for $390!

Anywho, my main question is this: I know it can be outputed to both balanced and unbalanced gear, but does it really matter which? I've got both a balanced and unbalanced soundcard, and don't know which one to use. I want to sell the balanced one on ebay for some extra cash to buy a mic or two. Is there a considerable difference between the two as far as sound quality? I'm not going to be running long cables or anything like that.

if you are going less than 20 ft unbalanced will be fine; but I have to wonder what is the quality of an unbalanced sound card in this day and age? What are the two sound cards in question?

Falken, haven't talked to you in forever! Yeah the cables from the pre to the card are less than 2 ft so I don't think that's a problem.

My unbalanced soundcard, the Emu 0404 sounds absolutely great actually, I recorded a whole album with it
