Nothing fancy. My wife likes singer/songwriter acoustic crap and asked me to cover one of her favorite songs for her from some dude named A.A. Bondy - whoever the hell that is. This is what happened. :D

This was quick and dirty and done in one afternoon. Not really looking for any kind of critique or anything. It's just something done for fun to share in here. :)

You have a wife?! :eek::eek:

:D

Cool tune, thumbs up.

"Gerg - quick and nasty for the missus"

Yeah I have a wife. Why is that surprising? I'm a handsome dude and chicks love me. What's not to love?

I just assumed you couldn't be tied down Gerg. No need to get so defensive now!

:D

Well, we can start with your breath. :)

This is singer/songwriter crap?? What fun!! You gotta get it to the original artist!!! Oh, I LOVE the kazoo interlude!! You are a TRIP, man. :)

What'd your wife think??

Haha, thanks. She loved it. :D

Yeah, it's originally some folky crap. Here's a live version.

(skip to around 1:10 to avoid his amateurish jawing with the crowd)

heh - to me, this is one of the more punk sounding tracks you've posted - maybe the production (or rush of the production)

very nice! moshing over here as usual.

I'm working on a cover for Mrs. Chef (along with Chili, and perhaps others) - but I'm not going uptempo with it - next one though, and I may have to get her to call Mrs. L if she starts coming after me with something sharp.

I'm not familiar with the original but to be honest, this song sounds at home in this format. I found the vocals maybe a tad low and as a result, after listening, I'm not sure I could repeat one lyric in the song so I don't know what you were singing about. But the general sound for me was reminiscent of No Use For a Name and I rather enjoyed it.

LOL, you raped that tune:D

Dont get me wrong its well done, and it sounds like it came outa the gerg machine:cool:

Btw I thought the original was quite good, good voice on the singer, not as great as you houndog voice though:D

Wow, the orginal is somnambulastic!
I mean, I like some singer songwriters: I'm a BIG fan of Leonard Cohen, & love 2 of Al Stewart's LPs (pre YOTCat), I dig early Donovan & thrive on Rodriguez but that fella takes the sleepy parts of Dylan, adds in the soprofics of james taylor & blends them with an attitude that's so laid back that I'd need to cut his vein to see if his heart's bleeding.
I like your version Greg.
Though you really shouldn't post you & the missus' quick'n'nasties except in Readers' Wives!

Thanks. You're not missing anything with the lyrics or my vocals, so it's all good. :D

Oooh saucy! Thanks Ray. :D

I couldn't even make it through the original. Holy cow, it simultaneously just about put me to sleep, and made me homicidal.

Yours on the other hand, well.... I'm ready to start my day now. :)

Good work.

yeah man really enjoyed the mix on this one...the bass and drums were working together nice--just a really clear production, especially with such a quick turnaround

Thanks fellas. :)

Didn't even bother with the original....I wanna hear it as a Greg song.;)
Yep, nail on the head and kick in the butt once again. It conjured images of an audience throwing chairs up in the air and moshing their way to hell....:D
Fantastic recording and I love those cymbals......
Great job, bro, hope the wifey inspires you more like this.:D

Awesome! I don't know the original and I don't want to listen to it.

This has all the energy of a GregTune (tm). But your mixes get better and better, and I didn't think there was much room for that. I just realized I need a lot more click on my bass drum. Do you had a lot of highs on the kik at mix time. If not, tell me what kind of skin you use.

Great stuff. Nice to be back listening to a GregTune (tm) again. :D

not bad gerg. sounds pretty dope. Im going ot be a totaly homo and say your vocals got some gravel. you got the giv'r behind them. I love it. nice touch.

I heard this original oddly enough my woman has it too. thats gay.

but i like what youve done with them.

personally id trade the kazoo for bagpipes but the kazoo is a signiture thing for you.

9 out of 10
