Hi, can anyone attempt to shed any light on what's going on with the guitar panning here? it's triple tracked with one left, one right, one middle which is eq'd more bass heavy, which makes the sound a lot nicer than it originally was, but it seems to make it pan all over the place throughout the song? the guitar sound is a lot nicer though so would quite like to be able to double track without this happening. thanks for any help

I think that you have answered your own question. The guitar in the middle is highlighting your inconsistent playing. You really shouldn't put a guitar in the center because it will be competing for space with the bass, drums, and vocals. Also guitars should not be "EQ'd bass heavy" that's what the bass guitar is for.

Ok thaks for critique but I think rather than me answering my own question you possibly haven't read it. I was trying to find out why, when the same guitar track is panned left and right with a really quiet differently eq'd one in the middle (it does seem to make the whole guitar sound nicer) the panning of the guitar switches from left to right through the song. I will try taking it out though and see if it helps. It's not me playing by the way it's my younger sisters band.

Is it one track, copied and pasted and panned? If so, you're having phasing problems. It sounds awful anyway. Retrack it properly using 2 or 3 seperate but good takes.
