I have to agree with you on your two observations:

Your rythm is a bit chaotic. I guess you get excited, because you're pushing ahead of the rhythm. Take a few deep breaths, and relax into it.

And yes, your kick is over the top. It may sound okay in your headphones, but it doesn't in mine. I think you will not lose much by taming it a bit.

As for the overall quality of the mix, I could live with it. The ragged playing distracts from the mix, but your basic ideas are sound, and the mix is generally clean and balanced.

I don't go on the piece of music that much. There isn't enough variation in 5.29 to warrant that length. I think you could afford to shorten it a bit.

But keep up with it. The process seems to work for you even if the content is not quite there.
