Oasis's recording technique?

Does anyone know how Oasis recorded the song "Morning Glory"? Thay have that old British groove to the sound. They must use a lot of 70's or 60's Tube mics and preamps, right? Some one tell me, I love that sound.

So let me get this straight...

Compress, squash, then compress again is along the lines of there recording technique. Ok, that was quick.
 
Let me tell you something. Owen Morris and Noel Gallagher love their compressed drum sounds. It's the drums which give morning glory it's sound. Best way to do it is to compress the overheads to fuck till you hear everything pumping. use a really ancient drum kit and whack about 15 tracks of marshall guitar stacks on it, perfect. i think the main vocal was recorded using a U87 into a Neve VR desk. A lot of the compression was from Drawmers but I cant remember what compressors were used on overheads.
 
I love those compressed drums too. But I always compress the whole kit, so the kik makes the cymbals duck. I should try only compressing the OH's. Thanks for the tip.
