Inspired by some songwriting thread here, I thought everyone was working on the lyric, how about some music for it. A work in progress that may someday be deleted - er I mean completed.

Hey that's good stuff. Not sure what it reminds me of exactly, a bit of Phil Colins/Genesis, bit of progressive 80's pop rock. Great guitar work as well. Interested in hearing the completed song.

yeah finish it...it had a groove...like Emeric said, genesis/collins comes to mind....gibs
 
I appreciate the comments guys - thanks. Now I will haunt the old thread to see if I can find some more interesting lyrics... In a wierd kind of cosmic way - it seems I have found some glimmer of inspiration at the hr board that I can build on.
 
Almost caught up

Man, you can't miss a week around here. It takes me that long just to get caught up :).

The canned drums aren't doing the tune justice, but the mix is pretty good otherwise. I agree with drstawl on the vocal reverb. Good lead tone and playing.
 
The sound on the vocal would be fine if it was for background, but you've got an ace voice and you sing really well - don't stick it over on the other side of the room behind a wall of verb. I think the organ/keys on the right might be a bit clearer, louder or upfront - a bit more noticeable. There - that's all I can think of in the way of criticism. This song's great. What are the words? I can't make 'em all out.

I hear ya, bro - your opinion will always be welcome. I recorded the vocal with an NT1 and it ended up getting drubbed - pre and post. Now I am working with the 57 and hawking the effects.

Thanks for the vocal nod (<>). Now, when my pc crashes (once every 1-2 hrs) I pick up the gut string.
As for the words - I am still workin on that. . .
