Nuendo isn't recognizing my firepod

just got a firepod and nuendo. I'm trying to set it up and it looks like everything is routed properly, but the vumeters are showing absolutely no input. How do I get this to work?

Go to vst connections and setup the inputs.

This is so weird... that's exactly what I did, and it didn't work. After reading your reply I tried again and didn't do anything differently, but it seems to be working now. I must be missing something, I'll let you know if I need anymore help. Thanks for the reply though.
