hey,

I am running Nuendo 2.5 on a Windows XP laptop and use an Edirol FA-101 firewire interface.
sometimes I get an error message when trying to open a Nuendo project (project cannot be opened, try to save under new name bla bla bla..)
when I look in the error.log it always points to an error in ntdll.dll

when I disconnect my firewire interface I have no problem opening the project. When I save the project under a different name and try to reopen it with the Edirol connected it sometimes works, sometimes it gives me the same error.

can anyone help me with this?

thanks

It appears that particular .dll file, which is a dynamic link library file has been corrupted. You can try to replace the file, or perhaps do a fresh installation of XP which should repair it. These files can become corrupted and there will be no notice given of it until a new program you use attempts to open the file.

could be corrupted file, could be....

a problem with the firewire interface/controller chip on the notebook. some manufac's have reported problems with certain brands/brand of firewire controller and say to only use the NEC chip (or not to use the NEC(i forgot)).

www.computergeeks.com had some cheap PCMCIA cards with firewire inputs on them, you might try that if nothing else works.
