NT1A Rode Mic keeps Cutting Out..........

I have a RODE NT1A Microphone, Motu Microbook Audio Interface and Cubase Essential 5........for some reason my mic keeps cutting out

For example...it only rec for 3-4 seconds then nothing repeatedly

All basic checks are fine, breathe is clean (from another forum I read) and I have placed the mic overnight in the plastic cover with moisture absorbers in the leather pouch

Is this the end of my mic????

Step 1: check thoroughly the signal path from mike to computer. Try a different mike, a different lead and so on, so that you can definitely confirm that it is the mike. Have you got an aquaintance nearby, or a store, where you can take the mike and try it out on a different system?

Step 2: if you are convinced it is the mike, ring Rode in Sydney. Seek their advice. Is it under warranty? Their service is good.

Step 3: this is only for the brave and foolhardy. I had an NT1a that started cutting out. I took it apart and discovered a dry solder joint. A dab with the soldering iron and it was right.

$5 says it's the XLR adapter that comes with the Microbook.

Can you try another mic to determine it is in fact the mic?
