I don't know about you people but I don't think this mic is that great...

I've tried turning the gain up on my Duet to just record me and my guitar while placing the mic towards my chest, and every time I notice that it seems like the frequencies of my voice and the frequencies of the guitar get kind of MESHED/SQUEEZED together.

And being a tenor, I don't really feel that it fits my voice to well... maybe I need to get better at EQing but I just wanted to throw this out there...

Anyone have any recommendations for a "brighter" mic with more Presence that doesn't seem so Mid Ranged?

Actually, I find most of the Rode mics to be too bright. I would suggest (if possible) that you go somewhere that will allow you to audition several different mics.

But I agree, I'm not real nuts about the Rode either.
