Indeed, it is. I also love the drummer's tamborine, just sitting on top of the hi-hat, loose. And I REALLY dig the acoustic drum machine named "Steve!" THAT is an analog as it gets!

That's not a knoif....that's a knoif :D

Y'know, I saw ELP in '74, and was really diggin' the concert... but then when Keith took a swig of beer and put the bottle on top of the grand piano, a slide was shown at the exact moment- and it ruined the whole experience for me. It became obvious that even his "thirst" was scripted. It got me wondering how much of that huge synth setup was just for show, too- and as I recall, I read recently that most of it was, indeed, window dressing.

(Sigh.)

I went to American University in Washington DC starting 1981, and in the music department, they had one of those wall-of-cable analog Moogs; much like a telephone exchange from WW2 :D.
I know you could/can wring amazing things from them, but for me and my more simple intuitive brain, there is no way I could sit and patch and re-patch one of those for the pleasure of making music.
They are impressive devices, and I know I have heard great LPs over the years which used them, but I am happy to leave that to the abstract electronic classicists and the good folks doing progressive and similar.

C.
