I sat down and put together a quick 2track mix of this tune yesterday. Let me know what you think of the arrangement/melody/lyrics now that you have a recording to refer to.....Thanks! :):D:):D

Here's the link:

Here are the lyrics again:

"Now That I Found Love"
(G.Steele)

It’s never been so good
Now that I’ve found love
You’re everything I need in my life
Cause when I’m with you
You take me up to the stars
And I’m never going to let you go (no, no, no, no)
Now that I’ve found love

Thinking back to the time when I didn’t have you baby
Don’t know how I ever got by
There were lonely days and even lonelier nights
Couldn’t find a love but Lord knows I tried

Then it all turned around and baby I found you
I knew you were the one for me
And the love we share you know its just so right
I know our love was meant to be

It’s never been so good
Now that I’ve found love
And your loving makes me feel alive
Cause when I’m with you
You take me up to the stars
And I’m never going to let you go (no, no, no, no)
Now that I’ve found love

Never had a woman make me feel so good
Got to say I’m so into you
I wake up in the morning and you’re on my mind
It goes on and on the whole day through

Anytime at all don’t need to find a reason
Want you baby all of the time
When give me some of you sweet, sweet love
Girl I just go out of my mind

It’s never been so good
Now that I’ve found love
You’re everything that’s right in my life
Cause when I’m with you
You take me up to the stars
And I’m never going to let you go (no, no, no, no)
Now that I’ve found love

Love the guitar progression. Vocals fit it perfectly and sound great.

Lyrics are a little cliché but I still like them and they fit the song well. I really like this song.

Mix sounds fine to me, little noisy but no big deal. Can't say much more than that as I'm listening on headphones.

The song is good. Reminds me very much of that song that goes "I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end. . . " The melody is nice and the vocals are good, but at some times are a little indecipherable. I can't tell if it articulation, levels, or what. I think the guitar tone could be tweaked a bit to blend with the vocals a little more evenly.

Good stuff.

Thanks Danny - Glad you liked it....It's a real quick live take on this just to get something down. The noise is probably just tape noise.

Thanks azrael - I believe that's a James Taylor song you're thinking of. Again the mix is just a quick take to my Tascam cassette recorder and it does tend to blur the vocals a tad. I'll post a cleaner 8 Track mix later....
Thanks for the feedback - much appreciated....:):D:):D

I love the chorus. Espoecially the repeated no, no, no, no. Very catchy and very musical while still getting the message across. My only minus was the way the last line is sung in every chorus. It seems difficult to understand for me. When I read the lyrics it is quite obvious but in just listening the last line gets muddy and hard to interpret. Perhaps changing to "Now that I found love" and disregarding the proper tense would have. The 've found seem to run together. jmho, nice effort.

Thanks for listening up-fiddler, and the kind words. About the last line.... I've pretty much dropped the ( 've ) completely, and am posting and singing with just the "I". I'm sure it's not right grammatically, but it seems to flow better and more comfortably when I sing it. :D Thanks again....

A little more Gallagher & Lyle than usual but reatins your signature vocal & melodic bent.
I look forward to a full mix with one of your succinct solos & some links thrown in.
The grammar isn't an issue as the message is clear & the song is lovely.
Chalk up another one Ido - you do what you do oh so well.
