Banned
You know songs like, Ahab the Arab, Dare To Be Stupid, Stairway to Gilligans Island, etc.
How many can you name.

Hi,

How 'bout They're Coming to Take me Away (hee hee ha ha)

I think this one was banned..

Short People by Randy Newman...

I like 'em!!!!!

Christmas music is bein' swamped with them.

I always like 'Cinderella', but that drunk sounding guy.

Well,
If you were to include parody...

Weird Al is a funny bastard.....

But, yeah,
Ahab, the Arab
Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie...
Convoy
The Streak
Mama got run over by a reindeer

All of em' are cool....

All except for Disco Duck...I never could stand that song

you forgot the "I like it until the 200th time I hear it"

I'm into humor, yeah the novelty song dies, I'm not into most but they get my attention.

I think novelty songs are like western movies. There are
very few of either of them anymore....as far as becoming
big hit songs. I'm trying to think of the last one and my
mind draws a blank.

the last one?

the latest one i can think of must be
"You're my Mate" by Right Said Fred.

I'd hate to think that the song WASN'T a novelty item.

I thought lit's big hit was a novelty... just about any big rap crossover song is a novelty... offsprings rip off of oom pa dee (my friends got a girlfriend and he hates that bitch) was one, lets see...

Not very PC, but. . .

"Mr. Custer" was one I always thought was funny as a kid. I haven't heard it in years, but I just looked up the lyrics online. They brought a smile to my log-chewin' face :D

Written by Larry Verne, in case anyone wonders.

Most recent one I can think of

Was the stupid dance-mix of the 'Hampster Dance'.

'Yummy Yummy, I got love in my tummy' - novelty song or extreme bubblegum?

I vote extreme bubblegum, Eric J; when I think of novelty songs I usually associate them with humor to a degree. The song in question is just saccharine with no chaser :D.

the "asshole" song by that dennis guy

"cows with guns"

"stutter rap" morris minor and the majors

"my heart will go on" celine dion (i hope that song was a joke)

I hear a lot of them on a radio show I listen to, Bob and Tom. I don't know what their coverage area is but if you're in the midwest you've probably heard them.

They played a song called "Enormous Penis" that was hillarious.

They also play songs from a parody band called The Electric Amish like "We're an Amish Band" and "Get Out Of Goshen."

Dennis Leary is your man for the song you mentioned.

A friend of mine bought me the first album by the Electric Amish. He seems to get a lot more enjoyment from them than I can, but the songs are amusing in their own way. His favorite tune is "Black Buggy Girls" (to the tune of "Fat Bottom Girls") because of the lines "Get on your buggies and ride!" and "Hey Greta, show us your ankles."
