Hi, I'm entering the realm of digital recording and have a Novation 25 SLMkii coming in the mail shortly.
I've been trying out different DAWs to see which has the best layout for me, but as I read through
the various forums for each one, I hear users complaining about compatibility issues with the SL Mkii.
At this point, I'm unable to get a different keyboard controller.
Any SL Mkii users that have had good luck with their DAW, I would love to hear what you're using.

Thanks in advance!

Are the compatibility issues you have heard of related to OS or DAW? It is just a MIDI controller right?

Keep in mind that it is not always the device that causes issues. It can be user and/or setup issues of DAW/OS or a combination of all. People who complain a bunch on the internet are usually misinformed or just bitchy. I am just going to guess you will be just fine with whatever you choose, as long as you pay attention and Google your way into knowing how to make it work. Best to ya! :)

Hi, and welcome to the forum. I have the 61 SL MkII. I've used it with Logic, Reason, Native Instruments, and Adobe without any real problems. The only problems I've had, were due to my lack of skill, not the DAW. You should be fine no matter what DAW you decide to get. :thumbs up:

Thanks jimmy69 and wannaknow!
J69 brings up a good point about the OS being a factor... I'm currently running Win7-64-4GB and playing with the free version of Presoneus Studio One.
If any issues come up, I'll make sure to post my experiences. Thank you both again for helping a digital recording noob! :)

I'm sure you will be good to go man. Or not. lol!

Seriously, I doubt you will have any issues with the unit itself. :)

Sounds good to me. Wannaknow gave you a list of great DAWs. My personal favorite Reason is on the list. Also, I assume from posts on other boards, that it's seamless with Kontact (which may be what he meant by Native Instruments), and there's a thread on Kuckos telling how to set it up for Reaper (a local favorite).
