Ok then. Possibly on your board, it's common for new members to post links to their products. However, it's frowned upon here. We welcome you as a member, and would love for you to contribute your knowledge when applicable. Promotion of a product (unless we know you as a integral part of our community, i.e. you put in a few months of quality posting) is considered SPAM here.

Welcome, and Enjoy.

Tony, you got straight up PWN3D.

I was wondering while crusing this forum why this new cat is trying to peddle his wares... hmm.

I figured this was something that would help all of you. I'm putting this DVD together because people on my forum had requested something like it, and I thought I would make everyone here aware of it. I saw some familiar names in this forum, and I sell a lot of high end gear (including SSL consoles, etc)... I didn't come on and say, "hey come and buy all your gear from me, come buy a mic pre from me". I'm not trying to spam the board... One of my clients told me I should sign up here and help people on this forum. I told him I would... I figured posting about an educational DVD wouldn't be frowned upon or considered spamming.

I apologize... If people want me to delete the thread I will.

I think the whole problem is the approach. See people here dont mind paying for products but we dont want to be known of as a fishing pool for the product sellers. We pride ourselves on the knowledge we share freely and if in the event after you have demonstrated the same attitude and mindset then if you have a product we are interested in no problem. to site some examples.
Beatsbuy- sounds
Chalin- mixing
Change - graphics
fieva- graphics
soulrnb - rnb hooks
and so on and so on
None of these cats showed up and said hey i got.... They showed up and started contributing then the rest came as we saw displays of their ability and mindset. So dont take it personal just stick around and become active and cats will get to the other stuff as time goes. welcome to HR

I suppose you're right... While I was perusing the site I saw people selling their CD's in their signatures, and selling sounds, etc... I figured, I'm producing a DVD with major label engineers teaching how to properly track and mix music, I'm sure people will want to know about this.... I figured people would be commending me for putting this together, but instead I was accused of being a spammer.

Anyway, if you think you can learn something from having me and a few other major label hip hop engineer's teach you how to mix your music, then great. If you already know how, then great. I'm not some kid sitting at home planning ways to spam message boards with products. If people want to know who I am you can check out my myspace... It has a song I produced for a group out of Harlem called "Most Famous", and pictures of me working in the studio with Scarface.

I'm sorry if I pissed people off by posting that I am making this product, but I truly thought this would be something everyone here would be interested in, and didn't expect this kind of reaction. Although, I can understand why, I honestly didn't expect it.

Uh... Maybe you aren't that anxious to sell something... What gives?

Sorry about that.. $99. After the pre-order the price will be increased, most likely to $129.

regardless of how it came off initially I and the rest of the community invite you to stick around and stay active. Everybody is welcomed to contribute here.

Hey Tony,

I see that you have good knowledge on producing. We try to keep this a teaching forum and not so much selling products. The way it works is if you stay and come back to give feedback and tips, you get respect. I have products on my site but I rather talk one on one and give my inputs and feedback. If a person wants to check out what I got fine. But, that's not the point, I'm here to give my knowledge and learn from others at the same time. Everyone here has been very supportive in what I do and I thank everyone.

What I suggest is give feedback on tracks and suggest ways a person can make it better or what they're doing right. If you give helpful in-site, I guarantee that folks will check out your DVD. Remember, it's not about a quick buck, it's about making relationships with other musical artists.

Check your PM...

And check this out, some people think I just sell tracks cause of my name. But it is like this: Beats BuY "Beats By" A producer resource...

Me personally, I think mixing is an area I constantly want improvement on...I think I have a good ear but not enough good training on it so I've been watching this thread seeing how it came out. I think everybody here has their own special gifts that they can attribute but don't necessarily advertise. Me myself, I consider myself a jack of many but not all trades. But like others have said, the approach was all wrong and that happens from time to time, but the more people who join in the better we'll all be from it.

Fie.
