Not for everyone, please hate this song

 Its pretty straight-forward, I dont think you are gonna find many haters. :D

Couple O things:

1. Intro is a bit long unless you have staging planned.

2. At 55", the guitar needs to nail the downbeat better.;)

3. A suggestion- in the B section try a C major chord instead of A minor. So it goes Gmaj- Cmaj. Also, I think I would try more major chords, its somewhat modal right now, unless thats what you really want.

4. vocals can come up a bit, and are a bit wet.

The song is cool. Its a good "musical" song, would sound killer with a clarinet and broadway-style pianny added.;)

Hope you hate it.

Okay, I hate it.

But only because it isn't me. (At least you accomplished your mission.) Seriously, it is what it is--musically it's simple & straightforward, but that's what it needs to be. It's got bucketloads of personality--exactly what you need to make a point in a musical.

Nike work! Uhh--I mean--I hate it!

I tried your suggestion and it seemed to work nicely.

Is this what you hear?

G C G C
Going gently into that good night is not for me

G C D B E
learn to damn the monogram it's H. I. V.

Love the idea of a piano and clarinet.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Yup. I would probably use an E7 so it makes it resolve easier.

Sounds pretty good. Some timing flaws and vocal pitch problems, but pretty good. Are the vocals leaning right on purpose? It's kind of distracting. I like the simple and subtle drums. Pretty good overall. Why would anyone hate it? I hear shittier stuff than this daily in here. :D

I want to hate it, but I can't get it to load. Soundclick ain't dishn' out any sounds right now.

I guess that means they're busy, and that's good, but maybe there are some alternatives?

Groovin tune man, I agree with the clarinet/pianny comment. A harp might go well too....Vocals are a bit verby but overall I liked...err...hated it ! That's the ticket!

wow

you know i'm not usally into "Screaming" or "deathmetal"

but i really love the Bass solo........

oh wait up.... no dude, i really like this song, i'd love to hear it if you "monogramed" the Vox if you know what i mean?

the vox are in the 80's the song is in 1920. sounds great!.

It's definitley a SHOW TUNE! Not in my usual listening stream but having co-written 3 or 4 musicals I know the form you're working within & this works really well given the constraints.
I agree about the length of intro. The changed chords - I'd trust David on those.
