Hi,

I've been busy recording and mixing my album, my grim black metal project got signed to None More Black Records and will be releasing my full length CD in Feb 2007! ( :D )
I'm working on my mix and everything and wanted to get some input.
(I play everything btw)

Here are 3 songs off that album...
Crimson Moon (mp3)
Crypt of Nazagaar (mp3)
Funeral Rites (mp3)

Thanks in advance.
ps: let me know if anyone has trouble streaming the songs.

Black metal is so far away from my style but I'll say this: Funeral Rites
- bass on the mix sits nicely
- guitars are nice and crunchy
- sounds like the vocalist is far away
- bass drum playing is cool when it doubles up and I like the way it only does it once in a while - makes it much more effective
- low pitch vocals are cool but again tough to hear
- I'm guessing that hard to hear vocals are the norm here...the screams sound brutal even at the low volume.
- extremely tight playing and singing.
- congratulations on being signed and I hope you'll post the source of your CD so people here can purchase same when released.....

Crimson Moon
I concur with Ido1957 except on this track there's no real bottom end.

Thanks a lot guys for taking the time to listen. It's appreciated.

"except on this track there's no real bottom end."
I think the lack of bottom end on Crimson Moon may be that the bass playing is higher up compared to the other songs. I don't know how I would fix that.

"..the screams sound brutal.."
Thanks, I was worried about the vocals (I don't sing), I'm not even "screaming" I'm just "singing" at normal speaking volume. I'm using a few channels and FX to get it that way. :p

"- congratulations on being signed and I hope you'll post the source of your CD so people here can purchase same when released....."
Thanks, I'm not sure what you meant though about "post the source of your CD so people here can purchase same when released.....". I may be too tired. :P

Thanks again!

Listening to crimson moon, very cool vibe. Would like to have those vocals slightly more up front, but thats justs a preference thing. I like hearing those screams kind of up front. Drums sound nice and hard. Guitars sound pretty solid. Overall i really like it, maybe a little compressed/squashed sounding in areas but i wouldn't say bad and probably fits the genre.

Take care man

Somehow the first song sounds to me like a bad old tape-recording due to that weird wa-wa-wa-wa-effect..

Otherwise this is bloody awesome. maybe the vocals are a bit too under. Cool work!! where can I buy an album?..

Thanks again, I'm remixing the vocals to bring them a bit more forward - just a tad though. :)
I'm also trying to compress it less.

You'll be able to buy the album at my site: http://nordicwinter.com when it's released in February 2007. :D
