HI
am new to your forum and mic
I have an unusual projet wich is to record what I say while I sleep.

yeah really I talk a lot and I want to record myself during sleeptime

I already purchased a samson q1 usb mic that I will hang above my bed #þ

now I need a software that will record of course BUT

I do not want to spend 8 hours per day of listening.. is there a software that could show me or play me only the good parts lol only the parts where I speak

any suggestions?

or at least that I can easily go where there is sound other than room silence to listen
ps if it had video also it would be nice

Audacity is free.
Reaper is free to try out forever and you are on your honor to buy it after 30 days.

Both have functions to cut silent parts out, leaving you with just audio above a certain level.
(computers aren't smart enough to tell what is speech and what isn't, there will alway be some junk to wade through)
Nothing is magic....

ok nice wich one is the easiest most friendly user?

also is there a video recording software somewhere

thx

yeah if you put the mic close enough to you then it should be quite clear where there is audio

Use Audacity for this if this is all you want to do. And then you can look at the wav form and wherever it's not flat, there's noise, so you can go an have a listen - of course it might be snoring or sheet rustling (as opposed to sheep rustling) or aliens operating on you whilst you're asleep, but it will narrow it down for you.

Do a trial so you get to see what speech, snoring etc. look like as wave forms, and that will make it easier..

YOU can determine which one is easiest for you yourself.
Audacity is free and Reaper works with no restrictions just a nag screen until you buy a license.

As for video editors, get Sony Vegas Studio (<$50) it's the Reaper of video editors...
