Two problems I'm having with recording an electric guitar through an amp:
One, there's a lot of buzzing. Not so much hiss, but a real electrical buzzing sound. Originally I had it hooked up in my basement and when I moved the guitar around the buzzing changed. I assume when the pickups are perpendicular to whatever is generating that noise, then it doesn't show up. However, I brought the amp upstairs and it was noisy no matter what I did with the guitar.
Second, I ran the guitar through my effects processor and then into the amp and suddenly I was picking up a radio station. You can imagine I don't want that on my recording either.
So, what can I do to eliminate amp noise? I'm not sure if I can do this, but if my amp has an out should I run it straight into my computer (I'm using an aardvark Q10). Is it a flaw in the amp or guitar, or do I just need to take certain measures to eliminate it?
