hey guys,

I have a Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS soundcard which I use for recording (more out of financial necessity than prefference). I've noticed as of late that when I line my guitar into the card and process it using Guitar Rig that a LOT of noise comes out on the high gain sounds.

Now I've almost successfully isolated the problem lying within the soundcard. It seems that when you set it to record from the Analog Line In, it also captures PC sounds of all varieties... I"m thinking that when these are beefed up, they cause the profuse noise I hear.

Does anybody have any idea how to isolate and only record the signal coming from the line-in without anything else? Or any other general pointers to reduce noise with this card? I'm almost 100% sure that the other parts of my signal chain aren't causing this and that it's solely the card.

Here is an audio sample of the noise I get, followed by a screen capture of the program itself when the noise is occuring.
