My houses electric system is really bad, not grounded. So, when I turn my Marshall amp on, a "hum" is inevitable.
I´d like to know if it´s a software that I can use, while or after recording, that filters that hum off, mainly at the silence parts of the track.

I think there's a de-hummer plugin in Cubase. You could also try EQing away just the 50Hz or 60Hz frequency.

I use Cakewalk Pro Audio 8 at the moment, maybe I´ll try Cubase.
Good suggestion about EQing the 60 Hz. I´ll try it too...Thanx

Hey Ola, do I need to buy the plugin separately or it´s bult in Cubase (version ?)?

I don't know. I don't use Cubase myself, I just remember a friend talking about it. See if you can find plugin on the net. There are tons of freeware/shareware Cubase plugins availabe.

Kinsley if I were you I would try eliminating the hum from the source. You will never eq it away completely. There are ground isolater boxes ("hum eliminators") that you can buy for about $50 that work quite well. And they are small, so you can move it arround and use it for a variety of different applications depending on what you are recording at the moment.
