Noise from mixer

hi I have my monitors coming out of a small 4 chan. behringer mixer and the louder I turn the mixer up, the more noise/hum comes from the speakers. (it can get quite annoying at high volumes) not sure if it's the mixer causing it or the speakers themselves... but someone said something might not be grounded or something.... I dunno. if anyone has a link to a faq for troubleshooting noise and hums that would be great. or some general advice on finding and eliminating noise....

Behringer mixers have been know to add a little noise. Are you speakers or monitors powered?

Yep, your problem is using a cheap, noisey mxr from Behringer.

I had the same problem with mine. Exactly what you described. I ended up buying a yamaha mg, problem solved. You will be content with the quality gain all around, for moniters, preamps, etc. Not that the behringer has terrible preamps, you can defineately get a good recording, but nothing else seems to work well on them.
