Hi, I poked around and didn't see much on this. I was wondering if people had any recommendations for noise-cancelling headphones?

We're doing recording at a live venue, getting feeds from the soundboard and then mixing/recording for our needs. The issue is that we need to tweak the soundboard feed a bit because obviously sound mixed for those at the venue doesn't sound quite recorded. But, the setup requires us to mix within the venue, so we've been having difficulty properly hearing our mix through headphones amid the noise of the actual performance.

We want to cut out as much of the room mix as possible so we can best hear our mix, and I was wondering if people had suggestions on a good set of cans to acquire. I know some headphones have active noise cancellation, but as the external noise they'd be cancelling is so close to what we'd be listening too, I don't know if that would affect what we are trying to hear.

Any suggestions or info is welcome! Thanks.

Yo Hang & DB:

Musician's Friend has a special, no shipping cost:

49 bucks for a pair of Isolation cans.

Maybe not the same brand as the 139 dollar cans; however, they do look to be made to do the same thing.

I just sent a pair to a friend of mine who has a hearing problem and really needs that type of can.

Can do? Take a look at MF's special and see if it fits your needs; sure is a whole lot cheaper--AND, I did have a pair of 139.00 cans; I sent them to my friend a while back and he eventually blew them up....life is simple.

Green Hornet  :D
