Haven't clapton strats gone for more than that?
and he's still alive.

He played right handed guitars upside down.

edit: You snuck in an edit, lol

It just seems like the seller isn't giving enough details.

And again, I don't know much about hendrix. But I feel that it would be going for more than what it is (not that 175 k is cheap ). Especially if it's the last guitar he played.

Bill of sale wasn't to Jimi. 'A string broke and he asked Kathy to bring it back to new york to get it repaired'??

Hmm... no returns accepted. Any why buy it now? I would think something like this would have been set up for an auction...

I have a bridge for sale..... My Black EC Strat goes for about 1200 on ebay. Much better sounding and playing... lol

A Hendrix guitar wouldn't be on eBay. It would be at Christie's or somesuch place. I should know, I'm left-handed too :D.

I have a left handed friend... should she know, too? I'm quite certain she has no idea... I'm not gonna tell her and just let her look stupid forever!

Anyone buying anything of historical significance would have to be a giant idiot not to DEMAND some sort of documentation of authenticity. Especially when your talking about a 6 figure item.

The receipt is not an example of such paperwork.

Next time I break a string I'm going to get someone to take my guitar back to NY to get it fixed too.

Bono probably reserves a whole jumbo jet to fly a guitar back to Dublin for repairs.

Ha. That'll learn her.

I know - everybody's gonna laugh every time she's asked where a Hendrix guitar would be. Also, somebody just bought a dirty old Indian (feather, not dot) looking thing from shite66 for $3,000. The listing for that said it would come with a letter of authenticity from "Hendrix management". I'd love to see that.

"I authenticate this dirty old piece of shit.

- Steve. (Hendrix management team, I swear.)"
