No sound when playing/recording through analog line

New user of sonar 8.5 and audiofire 2 interface with windows 7 on intel hp pavilion elite.

Everything seems to working fine but, as above, I get no sound when playing/recording into an audio track. Meters show audio response. And I get sound with soft synths.

I've adjusted audio inputs and outputs ad nauseum...pretty sure I have things right in this regard.

I am having trouble opening the audiofire 2 console and therefore, can not adjust settings...I suspect this might be the problem.

Any other obvious answers, anybody.

yeah, i'm an idiot.

it was the audiofire console....just needed to adjust setting in there and route i/os and unmute a few things.
